Oilweb operates a free B2B platform for wholesale fuel trading. It simplifies and accelerates business processes, with all operations handled online.
Traditional trading platforms often come with bureaucratic delays and long processing times, making wholesale trade inefficient. Oilweb offers a modern alternative to traditional tender processes.
Challenges
When the Oilweb founders approached us, they already had an initial version of the website and two apps.
However, the processes were fragmented, the apps were unstable, and the website’s UI/UX lacked clarity and trust. There was virtually no demand, and as a result, no supply from suppliers.

Including features not typically found in marketplaces:
– Escrow integration for secure payments;
– Splitting bulk orders into multiple deliveries across different locations and dates. Implementing this required reworking the entire order logic. It was one of the most complex parts of the system due to its non-standard nature.
Banking Integration
One bank handles acquiring, while four others provide lending options. To save time, buyers can submit a single application to multiple banks at once.
Logistics Integration
Previously, Oilweb managers handled all logistics manually. Now, transportation requests are created and automatically sent to multiple logistics providers at once, improving efficiency.
The shipment is handled by the provider whose terms best match the order requirements. Users can track shipments in real time via GPS.
Big Data & EAI Integration
To turn the platform into a full-fledged B2B marketplace, integrating with external systems alone was not enough. Big Data integration was also required.
Big Data often comes in unstructured formats, making consolidation difficult and increasing security risks. We built and integrated the system so that all components now operate as a unified whole, with a high level of security.
Platform Redesign
We redesigned the Oilweb web platform to improve both its visual appeal and its business value. The platform uses clear, business-focused language, allowing users to focus on solving problems instead of navigating complexity.
The improvements also strengthened its search performance, bringing in significantly more traffic.
Improving App Performance by 75%
We upgraded the tech stack and optimized SQL queries, enabling the platform to handle higher load without additional overhead.

We also had to build an administrative layer for managing the platform. This part of the system is not visible to end users, but it is critical to every operation.
